Tripod mounting plate 2 with 2pcs 15mm railblock (rods not included). Designed for long length, front heavy, camera packages. The Tripod mounting plate 2 attaches to the 15mm lightweight rods from your camera’s baseplate. The Tripod mounting plate 2 will attach to the tripod plate using a 3/8 16” and ¼ 20” screw. The Tripod mounting plate 2 should be placed in front of your camera baseplate when the center of gravity is under the lens from adding weight to the front of the camera with accessories like a depth of field adaptor, follow focus, matte box, etc. The adjustability makes it possible to balance a front heavy camera on your tripod properly.

Note:
1. Since the mouting holes don't line up, please DO NOT attach it to the bottom of a quick cage, versaframe cage or a Sony A7/A7II cage.
2. An upgraded version 1775 is produced and it is compatible with camera mounting on the top.
Small rig stuff is outstandingly well built - it is less expensive than red-rock and others, but works really really well.
This specific piece I purchased so I could mount a Manfrotto 577 QR on, as it turns out SmallRig actually makes this exact piece with their own Manfrotto 577 compatible QR - so skip the extra pieces and trip to the hardware store for bolts and get the proper SmallRig base if you're thinking the same as me.
